Words to influence your actions today,
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21)
God’s prescription for the sins perpetrated against us is acts of unmitigated kindness. To be overcome by evil is to respond in-kind. But as Christians we are called to a higher, more God-like standard. Therefore, our comeback to hurtful words is blessings. Our defense against abuse is serving. Our response to any sin committed against is love. All the while remembering that if we will do this we “will be children of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and the evil” (Luke 6:35).
